# What does your AI do alone and what does it ask you?

> How the work is split between you and your assistant, and when it asks for your yes.

With Brein you work as a pair with your assistant (ChatGPT, Claude, Codex or Ada). The rule is simple: **it prepares, you decide what matters.**

## How the work is split

| You | Your assistant |
| - | - |
| Decide who you sell to and who you do not (in [Cerebro](/work/cerebro)). | Reads that criteria before searching. |
| Say which customers you want. | Builds the List with the companies and the person who decides. |
| Choose who to reveal. | Tells you what it costs. |
| Say which stage each opportunity is in. | Moves whoever you point to, one by one or in a group. |
| Approve the email. | Writes the Sequence and checks it. |
| Review what it did ([how](/work/review)). | Tells you what it did and where each fact came from. |

## What it does alone

It does not interrupt you for this:

* Reading your Cerebro, companies, contacts, pipelines and Sequences.
* Searching public market data and the web.
* Showing a sample of 3 companies and building a List. It is free.
* Writing a new document in Cerebro.
* Saving an Analysis or a Report.
* Writing a Sequence draft, editing it and checking it.
* Noting a fact you told it ("we had a meeting").
* Filing in a pipeline, archiving or unarchiving up to 50 contacts or companies at a time.

## What it asks first: "two steps"

Everything that **spends, sends or changes something that matters** goes in two steps. First it shows you what will happen. Then it waits for your yes. It never takes the second step for you.

| Action | What you see before saying yes |
| - | - |
| **Revealing** emails or phone numbers | How many people and the maximum credits. |
| **Activating a Sequence** | Who it goes to, the exact emails and whether it passed the check. |
| **Replying to someone** who answered | The exact text that will go out. |
| **Creating or moving an opportunity** | The change, before and after. |
| **Changing a group of more than 50**, or its stage | How many and the effect. |
| **Rewriting a Cerebro document** that already exists | The full new text. |

You give your yes on your Brein screen, on Ada's card, or by writing it in the client you connected. An assistant cannot give itself the yes. More in [what asks for your yes](/trust/yes).

<Note>
A connected mailbox is not permission to send. And Brein never reads your inbox: it only sends what you approve and knows whether people opened, clicked or replied.
