# PostHog

> Events from identified people in PostHog create their Contact and their Company.

## What it brings into Brein

When PostHog sends an event from an identified person, Brein creates or fills in their **Contact** and their **Company**. If you ask at connect time, it also opens an **Opportunity**.

| From PostHog | Goes to |
| - | - |
| `person.properties.name` | Contact name |
| `person.properties.email` | Contact email |
| `person.properties.phone` | Contact phone |
| `person.properties.company` | Company name |

## Connect it

PostHog does not sign its notices by default. Brein protects the Integration with a **secret address**.

<Steps>
  <Step title="In Brein">
    Go to **Settings → Integrations → Connect → PostHog**. Copy the **secret address**. It is shown only once.
  </Step>

  <Step title="In PostHog">
    Open **Data pipelines** in the side menu. Click **+ New** and then **Destination**. Search for **Webhook** and click **+ Create**. Paste the address in **Webhook URL**.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Leave the body as it is">
    Do not change the body PostHog sends by default, and leave the *Signing secret* empty. In the **Filters** section, choose which events to send. Click **Create & Enable**.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Test">
    Use the destination's testing section. You will see the Arrival in Brein.
  </Step>
</Steps>

## Which events to choose

You choose them in PostHog, in **Filters**. Brein accepts any event that arrives. It is best to send only the ones that identify someone, for example a signup or a user identification, and not every visit.

## Limits

* Only people **identified** in PostHog carry an email. An anonymous visit arrives as **no person**: there is nobody to create. If you send all events, you will see many Arrivals like that.
* The email, name, phone and company must exist as properties of the person in PostHog, with those names (`email`, `name`, `phone`, `company`).
